Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In that role she is responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and the newly created Space Force, to commercial companies in space and the rise to space tourism. Kristin was mother of NASA astronauts and an avid space fan was raised within the space industry. She spent five years in the position of White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy during the Trump and Biden Administrations. Kristin was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president, the 2020 Presidential campaign and the efforts of two administrations to control the Coronavirus Pandemic. Kristin travelled frequently, and both with the president and vice president. She even went on an extremely secret trip to Afghanistan alongside Donald Trump. Kristin was a TV local reporter for Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., in which she was awarded an Emmy Award for her work as a "one-man-band" reporter before becoming a reporter for CBS in 2015. Kristin made use of her experiences behind the lens to start Field Mouse Films. The firm specialized in making documentary films, and became a preferred choice of corporate clients like Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. Her current residence is Washington, D.C. with her husband and three year old daughter.
