Anika Noni Rose is an American performer and actress. Best known as the character voiced by Tiana In The Princess and the Frog, the very first African American Disney princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Rose is well known for her character Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni (born on September 6 in 1972) is a singer and American actor. Most famously, she is known for portraying Tiana the first Disney African-American princess as seen in The Princess and the Frog (2009). The Disney Company named her a legend in 2011. She is best known for her role as Lorrell Robinson as the film that won an Academy Award Dreamgirls (2005) and her portrayal of LaVerne Jinglebox Ganner in the Starz the series Power. Her other notable work is her stage work, especially for the starring parts of Emmie Thibodeaux and the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) in which she won she received the Tony Award Best Musical Featured Performance went to her. Also, she played Beneatha Youther from the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Play Featured Performance nominated her.
