Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation as well as a SportsCenter anchor. She began working for ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since her age of nine. This skill helped her to get her first job with Univision, Miami. She was able to work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next job was as reporter for sports at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. After 2009, the reporter moved into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she served as a news reporter on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news in English at 9 pm and then a news anchor for 10pm, before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on additional responsibilities. She also wrote articles to the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, but was already aware of her plans for what she would be doing. The result was that she enjoyed the university, and the university provided the degree she was looking for. She completed her schooling and was accepted to the University as a major of media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was part of the class, established a lasting relationship with the student. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for journalism deeply touched her.
